The gift: See this interview where I wrote 6000 words in 50 minutes and see how I edit and proofread at lightning speed!
I had to write a chapter in a book and I got the entire chapter done in 50 minutes (all written) and then it only took my 60 minutes to edit my work. I did this in 2 steps.
This is exactly how I created the book chapter very fast. I had the questions and I outlined my answers. The video you are watching below is after I had it edited. In the raw video, there are pauses, mistakes, ums, ahs and probably even a few curse words. LOL.
By creating the book like this, you are also creating another asset - a bonus for your readers! Consider writing your next chapter like this.
Once the video was completed and all the questions were answered, I had the video transcribed. For products where I don't have a lot of time, I use http://rev.com. Rev is $1+ per minute but it's justified because they do a very good and clean job. The transcription is nearly flawless. However, there are some things you need to look out for when you are speaking a book and we'll get to that in the proofing section.
If you are not pressed for time and can do more editing, you can use a service called http://temi.com. I am not sure how temi works but I believe it uses more technology to transcribe so the results back are not as good as Rev, and hence why Temi is a lot cheaper than Rev. Temi will give you a nice platform to edit the text but you will have A LOT of editing to do - a lot more than Rev. You can decide which service is right for you.
Lastly you can always hire a private transcriptionist.
